Irma Palacios

Born in Iguala, Guerrero in 1943. She studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving, “La Esmeralda”, part of INB. While there she participated in workshops with maestro Reyes Haro. Between 1973 and 1979 she was immersed in the academy exploring pictorial materials until finding her artistic language in Spanish informalism. She was granted scholarships by Simon Guggenheim and the National System of Creators in addition to being the first awardee of the Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial. In addition to being invited to the United Arab Emirates, her work has been exhibited in various museums in the United States, Chile, and Europe.
