Ferman

Fernando Mancilla is a self-taught contemporary artist, who moves from naive and colorful art to sculpture, as part of an exploratory artistic process, without abandoning the naive origin of his artistic origin.

In this process, a controversial character is created, a character that is the result of his observations of the actions of modern man, that current man who has become obsessed with professional success, a man who forgets rest, fun, of entertainment, that allows you to distance yourself from your professional side and that allows us to continue being human beings. Product of this search appears Mr. Manny, a somewhat humorous character, who does not leave behind his suits, his laptop, his different work tools, which are already an integral part of his life, the artist creates this character with the clear intention to free him from that professional rigidity and give way to the childish side that we all carry inside; so he places it in leisure situations.

Mr. Manny performs multiple activities as if wanting to close his eyes to that vertiginous and relentless life of professional life, as if forgetting who he is and becoming just another child, with the happiness that play, and rest bring him. Who of us would not want to steal time from time to carry out some of the activities that Mr. Manny carries out.

Fer Mancilla presents us with the opportunity to recover that childishness through his sculpture. The artistic work is a serious sculptural work, with attention to detail and aesthetics, and always seeking to place his character in fun, real and current situations without taking away the seriousness of his artistic work. It is a pleasure to meet an artist who, despite the humorous tone of his character and his different scenarios, gives us a fun work that allows us to take a moment to observe art from a more current point of view with contemporary language.
