Leonor Hochschild
México 1962 Leonor Hochschild has specialized her studies in painting at the “Escola d ́Arts Aplicades I d ́Oficis Artistics, LLOTJA” in Barcelona and in mixed techniques with the artist Víctor Ceprián Cortés in Madrid. She has studied drawing with the artist Aceves Navarro in Mexico City and in the “ Escola d ́Arts y d ́Oficis, Diputación of Barcelona. She also holds a bachelor in advertising design and a diploma in artistic illustration at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City. Her artistic practice is based on the study of the subject and its behaviour; developing a plastic and conceptual language where materials acquire relevance for being the channel of communication between the ethereal and intangible worlds. Currently established in Mexico City, Hochschild has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, Europe and Asia. Amongst which, stand out “ Materia Viva” in L gallery, Mexico City 2020, “ La arteinformada”, curated by Susana López, Madrid, Spain in 2019, the contemporary art festival Food Art Week Mexico, “Las monarcas” in J. Arcadio Pagaza Museum, Valle de Bravo, México 2018, “Tiempos de regeneración” in the Gustavo de Maeztu Museum, Navarra, Spain and “Nueva abstracción” 665 Gallery, Mexico City, 2017; “Cada mundo su arte” in the gallery Pedro Gerson, Mexico City, 2016, “Tempus Fugit” in AC Gallery, Madrid, 2014. As well as two individual exhibitions with this gallery in 2013 and 2011; art fairs such as: “Art-Madrid ‘012” with Ac Gallery, “Art Beijing” and “Art Innsbruck”, 2013 with Art Nou Mil-lenni gallery. The projects in which Hochschild has participated in the last four years have been a series of exhibitions in Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Mexico under the curatorship of César Oropeza at Superficie Arte. In 2020 she participated in “Femenino hoy”, an exhibition at the C3, Complexity Science Center, UNAM in México City. In 2019 she participated in the “Abstractor” exhibition at Mühlberg Castle of Germany. In 2018 she participated in the “Necros-Opsis” exhibitions at the UNAM Geology Museum, Mexico City. In “Dimensions” at Ateleir Anders Art Ig, in Solingen, Germany and “Otherness” at Leipzig University, Germany. In 2017 she participated in the “Creators of legends” exhibition at the University of the Claustro de Sor Juana, Mexico City, and at the “Hans R. Giger Tribute” at the H. Ruedi Giger Museum, Gruyeres Switzerland, among others
